Polytechnic and University Planning

1. When should university planning begin if my child does not yet know what to study?

Students do not need to decide on one career immediately, but exploration should begin before the final application year.

Starting earlier gives the student time to understand their interests, make informed subject choices, explore possible majors and develop relevant experiences without last-minute pressure. University deadlines and requirements can also begin well before enrolment, particularly for competitive courses. UCAS Application Journey

2. Can you advise on different countries and help us decide which pathway is most suitable?

Yes. We support planning for Singapore, the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia and Hong Kong, as well as Singapore polytechnic pathways.

We compare options based on the student’s academic profile, curriculum, subject combination, interests, preferred learning environment, family priorities and future goals. The objective is not simply to choose a country, but to build a realistic and well-balanced pathway.

3. My child’s school already has a university counsellor. What additional value does The Waffle Club provide?

School counsellors are an important part of the process, and we work alongside them rather than replace them.

Our additional value is continuity and personalisation. Because we may already understand the student’s academic progress, personality, activities and growth journey, we can help connect those experiences to course exploration, university selection and application positioning. We also provide parents with individual follow-up across different countries and pathways, particularly when the family needs more time and guidance than the school can provide.
